NCCCC - Steve Moore Enlightens Us

What a weekend! It's hard to believe that so much conservative thought was passed along and discussed in only two days. There is simply too much good information and ideas than I can simply recount, but several items really stood out.

Steve Moore, the well known contributor to both Fox News and The Wall Street Journal took the podium late Friday night to share his thoughts and feedback on the importance of acting out a conservative agenda. Several key facts really stood out to me, and I'll somewhat paraphrase him:

- We have crossed a threshold where our country has borrowed more money now than the federal government has brought in from 1776 to the present.

- President Obama's new budget that was just passed will borrow $10 trillion over the next 10 years. To put this into perspective, imagine this: NBA star LeBron James makes $42M a year - he would have to play basketball for the next 36,000 years to accrue this much wealth.

- If the entire country was blessed with a 1 year income tax holiday, this would only account for $1 trillion in comparison, and the positive economic impact would echo resoundingly throughout the entire country for a long time.

- President Obama's insulting quest to "slash" the budget by $100M is put into perspective when one realizes that the federal government spends $100M every 12 minutes.

- Among the proposed budget cuts is a $3M school voucher program in the Washington D.C. area that would allow for children in public schools to choose their school and find a better fit for their educational needs.

Very intriguing information from Mr. Moore. What an honor to have him come to our little corner of the state and share his thoughts.
