Wilmington Rants!

Southeastern NC's Political & Economic Opinion Arena

“Major drainage issues at Inland Greens Golf Course have more than doubled the cost of buying the land available for public use” this from the Department of Information.

Looks like the Wilmington City Council has been jealous of New Hanover’s sink hole of a park, Airlie Gardens. An additional $800k is chump change but it is a good start. Maybe before too long the City Council will have the Wilmington taxpayers on the hook for millions for 9 holes of golf “for beginners”.

I wonder how much the upkeep will be on this garbage course not to mention now that it will be public the cleanup that is needed from all the rif raf that hangs out there. Oh I can just hear the old folks there complaining now about the bums loitering near their beloved property.  If one had to pick I wonder who the dumbest person on council would be? THAT is a hard decision there.

Then here's what they need to do. Create a Golf Tax District like the recent Downtown Tax district idea. Increase property tax for all those around the golf course and use the money to clean up the mess the riff-raft make. Wilmington will probably need a new Golf Inc. subsidized agency to oversee all this with Board of Directors and CEO to make sure the funds are thoroughly wasted.

Now first the clown council needs to vote on a resolution to appoint an outside source to conduct a study on how many gov. idiots/directors will be needed to manage this money and how much garbage will be left on this course. Then we have to conduct a study for who is to dispose of it and where. The study will only cost us another 100K which is no problem. Maybe hire Billy Bob from Idaho that happens to be one of the council members brother in laws to do the study
