“Major drainage issues at Inland Greens Golf Course have more than doubled the cost of buying the land available for public use” this from the Department of Information.
Looks like the Wilmington City Council has been jealous of New Hanover’s sink hole of a park, Airlie Gardens. An additional $800k is chump change but it is a good start. Maybe before too long the City Council will have the Wilmington taxpayers on the hook for millions for 9 holes of golf “for beginners”.

Increase property tax for all those around the golf course and use the money to clean up the mess the riff-raft make. Wilmington will probably need a new Golf Inc. subsidized agency to oversee all this with Board of Directors and CEO to make sure the funds are thoroughly wasted.
