I Pledge Allegiance, to The Disconnected States of Fascist Thuggery...

Sort of has a ring to it, no? At any rate, one has to take a step back after viewing or listening to the incendiary comments made by top union pit bull James Hoffa at an Obama rally on Labor Day.

Hoffa, who still envisions himself robed in the glory of steamy railroads garnered with throngs of bat-wielding Teamsters, in the golden age of union uprising, ready to crack skulls in dark New York alleys, shouted like a man obsessed to a crowd of union workers in the most economically deteriorated city in America - Detroit. Hoffa's words were filled with calls for physical violence against those who politically differ: "President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. ... Let's take these son-of-a-bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong".

The fallout from these comments is mysteriously lacking, and there has been no media firestorm demanding the stepping down of Hoffa, or even so much as an apology for threatening violence against fellow Americans. In fact, the president took to the podium shortly thereafter and had nothing but glowing remarks for Hoffa and his ideals. This, after only a month or two ago when Mark Halperin, as a guest of MSNBC's Morning Joe, called Obama a "dick" when he thought he was being edited. The backlash from this gaffe was swift and severe, as the media's hand-wringing was widespread, and the commentary plentiful. Halperin immediately apologized, as did the network; but that did not prohibit his indefinite suspension that ensued. Even Jay Carney, White House spin doctor extraordinaire  called the comment "inappropriate".

Back in January, in the wake of the tragic shooting of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, President Obama urged a more civil discourse between political ideologies, and admonished groups using any rhetoric that could be construed as provocative. Obama pleaded for America to converse "in a way that heals, not in a way that wounds"; and he condemned harsh "politics, point-scoring and pettiness that drifts away with the next news cycle". And let's not forget his call "to sharpen our instincts for empathy, and remind ourselves of all the ways our hopes and dreams are bound together."

Since that rousing call and higher challenge to America, we have seen Rep. Andre Carson say that the "tea party movement would love to see you and me ... hanging on a tree", referring to black Americans. Vice President Joe Biden has referred to the Tea Party as "terrorists". We've seen the untalented and drab Janeane Garofalo compare Tea Party members to the KKK; as well as claiming that blacks and women in the Republican Party are victims of Stockholm Syndrome; and claiming that Herman Cain is being paid to run for president, among other absurdities.

In addition to the increasingly inflammatory rhetoric being spewed by the left, even after the call for civility by their leader, we've seen various thuggery from the highest levels of government. The Gibson Guitar Company was raided by the Feds for their use of a certain kind of wood. We've also seen the Old Dominion trucking company sued by the Obama administration for demoting - not firing - an alcoholic driver, when regulations clearly call for that exact remedy as a safety concern. The attacks on the free market have been severe and frequent under the current occupant of the Oval Office.

It should come as no surprise that a man who has spent his life coddling and finding common ground with communists, angry racists, domestic terrorists, and radicals of all stripes; when elected president, has implemented his dangerous ideals against us all. America, increasingly more emotionally shallow and hooked on political correctness, bought into the "hope and change" mantra, thinking that doing so would exorcise some historical social demon supposedly plaguing the gears of progress. Instead, our economy is tanking with every day that goes by, as radicalism takes a firmer hold on the fabric of our nation.

Union thugs, radicals, communists, and progressive elitists have found a cozy home within the inner sanctum of the Obama administration. Meanwhile, government interference has had devastating effects on our economy, as unemployment soars around 10% - which doesn't account for many other factors of unemployment, which would raise the number closer to 20%. Markets are failing, investments are diving, businesses are closing, and freedom and liberty are being stifled at a much more brazen and accelerated rate. And the very ones perpetrating all of it on the rest of us have the audacity to preach down to us about civility.

The Tea Party takes a basic general view that too much government involvement through aggressive taxation and regulation stifles economic prosperity and freedom. The evidence of this is unbelievably clear - yet the progressive machine continues to take to the street with plans of even more stimulus and regulation as an economic repair; despite the overwhelming evidence of these policies bringing economic destruction.

It is shameful, that in our quest for social utopia, we have elected a Leninist who is subjugating us all under his thumb, and has completely abandoned our founding principles enshrined in our Constitution. This is way beyond politics - it's about the very heart and spirit of this great country. We do not look like America anymore, and that is a sad reality. What are we going to do?

maybe this is one step closer to Civil unrest in this country, that's probably the only thing that will make a difference at this point anyway
I do not understand how a commentary against the heated political discourse in our country devolves into a bash the left propaganda piece? I am also at a lost to find what evidence is "unbelievably clear" that "aggressive taxation and regulation stifles economic prosperity and freedom"? However, I have some evidence for you and your readers to contemplate in support of progressive economic policies:

1) The largest expansion of the middle class in US history was after WWII when taxes and union memberships were the highest in our history. We also invested those tax revenues in infrastructure, government jobs, education and science.

2) The Great Depression was eased and ended by the New Deal and WWII. What was WWII: a huge government spending program and stimulus!

3) There have been Financial Crashes in 1873, 1907, 1929 and 2008 with unregulated banks, mortgages, loans and stocks the primary causes of each. Is it mere coincidence that less than a decade after the repeal of the Glass–Steagall Act our banking system only avoided collapse by the full faith and credit of the US taxpayer?

4) Income Inequality has sharply risen since the Reagan Administration started deregulation and "Trickle-Down" economics. In 2007 the top 10% took 49% of wages. No one works 100 or 500 times harder than someone else! I also encourage you to google a Citibank investment advisory letter from March 2005 that validates this data and attempts to show how democracy can ruin the investments of the wealthy.

5) Labor Day is a celebration and commemoration of the struggle our great-grandparents, grandparents and parents have now past to our generation. Without their courage we would still be working 12-16 hour days, no safety regulations, no breaks and no lives outside of work. They did not sacrifice their youths, their sweat and their blood for us to give up those rights because they are inconvenient to business owners! They would want us to not only fight to keep those rights in this country but help those in other countries who are beginning to rise up against the same conditions in the US of the early 1900s.

Happy Be-Lated Labor Day!
